The Songwriter Soiree Presents a very special Friends and Family Music Campout!

July 25th-28th!

The event is open to our whole Soiree community and beyond, as well as families and friends. Yes, you can bring your kids.  Everyone is welcome to come and participate or just enjoy the nature and vibes.

Wow we are SO excited about this event — we so hope you join us!

Big starry skies, magical campfire jams, friends old and new, swimming holes, and music, music, music for days.

Gather your instruments, your friends, your family, and your spirit of collaboration, creation, and wonder and join us in the woods of NW Oregon for a weekend that will fill your soul.

In case you missed the news, we had to move our previously planned NW Songwriter Soiree Retreat Summer camp to Autumn. We will be hosting it in the Autumn and Spring moving forward.

In light of this, we decided to host a more informal event this Summer in place of the cancelled camp. This is not an official NW Songwriter Soiree Retreat, but a more relaxed Summer campout for friends and family hosted by the Songwriter Soiree.

This will be a more casual event, created by everyone who attends, with more time to hang out, and just be together. There will be light space holding and some workshops offered as well as the open mic every night.

What’s Included

Workshops and Song Circles

Enjoy casual workshops offered by Soiree Staff as well as by some participants! All workshops will be announced at the event.

Workshops will be offered in songwriting, singing and vocal freedom, drumming, lyrics, arranging, performance skills and much more. There will also be several official song circles offered which provide in the moment songwriting coaching by our teachers.

These are the teachers we have confirmed for this special campout: Hannah Sophia, Jonathan Brinkley, Jason Krivo Flores, Lewis Childs, Matt Meighan, Micaela Kingslight and Samara Jade.

Raynsong will be offering Yoga as well.

Yoga and Dance

Yoga will likely be offered each morning and maybe in the afternoon. Bring your mat (and we will have some to share). And we likely will offer ecstatic dance on Sunday morning, so get ready to boogie!

Open Mic Soiree

This is the heart of the Soiree. Each night we will gather together in an intentional and supportive space, to share original songs. This is our trademark event and you won’t want to miss it.

Group Connection and Play

Part of what makes the soiree community unique is the safe, supportive and connected space we aim to create. We may offer a few moments to get to know each other better (just like Summer camp!) and offer some fun, connecting activities for those. Optional, yet encouraged!

Reflection Time/Nature/Fun!

We came here to relax, right?! Take the time YOU need to unwind, be still and let inspiration find you. This event will be a great time to practice the art of JOMO (Joy of missing out). Do nothing. Sit on your chair. Play some guitar with friends. Jam around. This is you time.

This camp will be mostly free time with space for playing, reflection, nature and connection with other activities. The property is on five acres in the middle of the woods with a amazing SWIMMING HOLE and lots of hiking trails, big starry skies, and a serene and meditative nature experience.

Accommodations, Food, and Facilities

The property is located at the incredible Camp Cedar Creek, a lush and private campground near Sandy, Oregon. The property boasts an amazing river, shaded and private camp sites, space for RVs and trailers, and an incredible indoor multi-use work and live space with bathrooms, showers, kitchen, and more.

All accommodations are camping (you bring your tent). There will also be room for some RV’s and campers. Please indicate this on your registration form below.

No meals will be provided. We will offer some tea and snacks. We might offer private food truck service, and if so will announce it. For now, plan to bring your camp kitchen and get to know your neighbors!

We are having a POTLUCK on Saturday night for community building. Please bring something you can share.

You may arrive anytime after 3pm on Thursday, July 25th. Please do not arrive before this time. You may arrive and depart anytime you wish during the event.

There will be a brief opening circle on Friday afternoon at 2pm. We encourage you attend this to connect and get information on the weekend flow.

Camp will end at 1pm on Sunday, July 28th. Please plan to be off the property by 2pm.

The NW Songwriter Soiree Retreat has strong values around inclusion and accessibility. Part of our ethos is to provide an experience where people from many different backgrounds and situations can gather and learn from each other — not just those with the privilege or resources to attend. To that end, we are offering two price tiers (and an early bird discount on each tier until April 10th) for this more informal event. Please select the highest tier you are able. By paying more, you allow us to continue to make our events accessible and to grow and show your support of the Soiree. Thank you!

Payment plans are available for those in need. We also have a limited amount of work trade and scholarships available. If interested, please contact us.

The ticket price is per person (not per campsite) and includes admission to the event and use of all of the amazing facilities, organized workshops, and all events happening over the weekend.

Please note in the comments section if you will be staying in a car or RV and length of your RV. RV’s or trailers over 25ft will park near the entrance which is a 5-8 min walk to the main area.

Just in: We have two private trailers to rent for this event. Contact us if interested.
